Yesterday on the way home from school heard a snap and some rubbing noise from the front left tire. Nursed it home. Started smoking about two blocks from home. This morning my nieghboor a ex toyo tech took it apart. we thought i may have had a caliper break and somthing was rolling/grinding inside the housing.

Turns out looks like i lost a bearing. Put the axles are also in dire need off being rebuilt. So bad I have the front drive shaft removed and the CDL locked trying buy some time.

Anyone know where I can find a shop in the valley to rebuild the axles and also to a 4.88 regear? And how much would I be looking at? I'm working 50 hours a week and in the middle of Paramedic school right now, So I have neither the time, skill, or tools to tackle to project my self.

My other option is to let her go as a project veh. Super clean 92 3FE AZ truck with excellent paint, perfect cloth interior, no luggage rack, 5 (33x12.5) MT Rear Kaymar tire carrier hi flow cat and exhuast.

Any info will be appreciated

I second wheelers...did great work on my Taco...super fast and under budget.

I called 4 Wheelers Supply today. The service dept quoted me about $200 labor plus parts,to rebuild the "knuckles" That seems a bit low? Does that sound right? How exactly do I need to explain to them what I need. I kinda need to get this rig back up and running soon. Its my DD and working and going to paramedic school full time require a veh.

4 Wheel Parts did two totally perfect installs for me. Years or no-hassle use now with 100 and it's a rig they never had done back 5-ish years ago.

Howdy! Did they mean $200 labor for each knuckle? John

John Im not sure. I cant imagine $200 for the labor for the entire job. What should I expect to pay?

Howdy! Maybe the other John will pipe up about the $$$. The regear labor will certainly be a bunch more. John
