If you want to run it down here to Olympia, I just had a diff and x-fer case rebuilt by a really good, honest, mechanic. PM me if you're interested.

ok this is where I'm at with this. Robert is no longer with Randy's offroad and they wanted 2350 to rebuild trany and case. I talked to TOR and he said that he would do the transfer case for 500 but didn't want to do the tranny. Do these prices seem in the right park?

OK. if you want i can get a hold of robert and see if he is willing to do it on the side. hes good friends with a buddy of mine. just PM me if interested and i will get you a number. randy's goes through employees once in a while. the last time (about 5 or 6 years ago) randy's wife and half the employees left.

Randys off Road..

Took my rig to Randys off Road recently and was not impressed. I found the work I had performed was not to par, things I requested be done were not done, and their price was high. To their credit, when I complained they made it right. I was, however, not left feeling as though they had a lot of experience with cruisers left in their shop. I hope my experience was the exception and not the rule.

really, that sucks. they have always treated me right. but i havent used them in a few years. randy owns a very nice fj40 with a lot of mods. but i have heard he doesnt treat his employees well and thats why he looses good ones. when they first opened just about all they did was cruisers. i guess i wont recomend them anymore.

Hi All:

Well, a good tranny shop in north Seattle (just west of Northgate Mall) is Clary's on Aurora Ave at 98th.

If you don't want to spend a lot of $$ just find a good used tranny and t-case. Any of 'em from 09/74 through 1979 should be the same as what you have (sorry, don't remember the date of the change-over to the later "split" type t-case.)

Regards,

Alan
