Shop for 60 Desmog in DFW area?

My buddy's dad just bought an '84 FJ60 and his smog pump locked up. He was looking to find a local shop to do a desmog, valve adjustment and galley plug fix.
Anybody have a recommendation?

Do a search in the 60 section there's instructions in there and how to do it yourself. I did it to my 62 a couple of years ago and it is not too hard. Man-A-Fre sells dummy pulley you use in place if the smog pump. I have the instructions for a FJ62 that I can email you. Just send me a PM with your address.

Is the 60 near where you live in Bryan or in DFW? Bar none one of the best shops in central Texas is LS Spec in Austin (Mud Handle: green grass hopper). They specialize in Land Cruisers, exclusively.

In DFW I used Pratt Automotive in Benbrook before, specializing in Lexus and Toyota. Great guys - I would first call them to see if they would do a desmog job.

The 60 is in DFW. I had great luck with Land Cruiser Specialists in Austin, but was trying to find someone closer for my friend.

Check with Butch (Texican on mud) Bonham is closer than Austin and he can knock it our easy.

Baker Tire in Bonham, TX is Butch (Texican's) shop.

You can also try Buddy at The Cruiser Shop in Richardson...high-dollar, but good mechanic.
