I'am trying to get a basic idear of what other's have used on there FJ40 's SO shock travel (front axel) or shock cycle. I am useing MAF safari 2 1/2" springs . thanks Dennis

14's, front and rear...get the rig 'balanced/teetering' on the left front and right rear tires (opposites off the ground, barely) with no shocks installed...that's your max compression and extension. Take a set of 14's, mount to the axle side, and modify top mount points as needed.

Ford shock towers work great in front, add a few inches...there are also aftermarket taller towers out there that 'look' stock. I run a custom hoop for mine.

Rears are thru the bed to a custom mount. You may find 12's work in the rear better, tipped inwards a bit...don't tip TOO much tho, you lose damping quickly at steep angles.

The more vertical, the better damping you'll see.

Good to know, I will order 14's when i get the cash.
Thx

I will prob. check for myself just for fun cause I work @ a lumber yard w/ lots of forklifts...
