calling all shock Guru's. Am I mistaken or is the AHC/AVS LX/LC a very large remote reservoir shock system? I got a copy of a pdf. file on it (I would post it if I knew how) and it looks a lot more HD then any of the after market companies are making. I know they use the AHC/AVS system with higher pressure shocks for the up armored UN LX/LC's. I guess we would see more after market mod's for the AHC/AVS system if they were sold on the LC in the USA? Guess it's because the system is good enough for a trip to the Mall ;)

Yes, to some degree, it is a remote reservoir system, and the oil capacity is large. There is a lot pressure in this system, which increases friction and thus heat. W/o testing or speaking with folks in the know, we can't tell how far this system will go before it overheats or?

I think 4x4 tripping had this system in his LC with the bigger armored shocks (no other mod's to the system) when he transversed Africa and Now South America. He stated no problems with the system. Wouldn't more fluid disapate more heat faster? It looks like if you want to build a rock crawl then using a basic LC and a lift with some body armour and upgraded shocks is the way to go. But for a all around superior suspension the European LC with the AHC/AVS is the top dog. Just don't get why Toyota has not offered that option on the LC? Maybe they will in the next couple of years like they offered AHC on the 100 series LC in 2006 & 2007?
