My 97' LX450 has 170,000 miles on it and it is time for new shocks. I'm considering a small lift, but was wondering could I get new shocks now and use the same shocks with a 2 inch lift? Which shocks should I go with.? 95% road use and 5% trail.

Thanks in advance

refresh with factory shocks

Can I use the Land Cruiser shocks with the LX450 springs without ill effect? I was never keen on the way the LXs road...sloppy

yes they will fit but will stiffen the ride about 30%

you are right...nlx

but the lc shocks definitely feels stiffer

Will the factory shocks work with a 2" lift?

Yes they will work, that's why you don't need anything but springs or spacers for a 2 inch lift. Although I had to get caster even with factory height springs but that could be just my rig.

Keep in mind it will only get you a lift and it will not increase articulation or anything. But for easy trail/service road running it works great and get you extra clearance along with some 33s...or bigger.

Go with the best shocks you can afford.

Or stick with genuine Toyota shocks if you're on a budget.
