Hi all,
I've just recently installed. 75 series front leaf springs on my bj40, which moved the front diff forward 50mm (SUA).
I'm preparing to do a 60 series power steering conversion and have obtained some ford shock towers:

I have several questions:
This is a pin type shock tower as opposed to an eye type . Are there any disadvantages of using a pin type shock? Are they equivalent strength ? Are they better /worse for misalignment?
Following on, when I do my power steering conversion, should I prioritise the position of the shock tower directly above/in line with the lower shock mount and then position the steering box? Or should I prioritise the steering box position and have less than optimal position/misalignment for the shock?
Thanks

IMHO ..

1. eye / eye = more options available in the market
1.1 there are adapters on the market to go from pin to eye .. pro comp makes one option, but you easily could do at home
2. Steering Box and links over shocks ..

Hi all,

I did a similar front axle "relocation" a few years ago. ;)

I used the Ford shock towers as well, and fitted Old Man Emu N89 shocks. These seem to work well with the longer front springs on my 40.

Regards,

Alan
