Shim?

I have a BDS 2.5 lift. One of my projects this winter is taller anti-inversion shackles. I think I will do 3 inch. Do i need to shim my axle?

Not if you want it to be really easy to change lanes on the freeway, like when you sneeze.

Have an allignment shop measure the caster after the shackles are on then shim as needed.

When I put on my HFS lift a few weeks ago, I also put on 1.5" longer than stock shackles on. I put on 2-degree shims at the same time and later had it checked at an alignment shop. With this combination it was pretty much right on. So for you I would guess 4-degree.

Since you don't have to remove axle from springs to put on new shackles, I would go with 60wag's suggestion and take it to an alignment shop to find out how much shim you need.
