Just pries off with no heat or nothin? No damage? With a pocket knife???
Yes, the glue is stretchy like rubber cement. I used a very small thin screwdriver to get under the edge, and then ran it around under the edge to get it off. This worked better than an Exacto blade, which I tried first and did make a small nick. I used epoxy to glue it on the Toyota knob after cleaning old glue off with a little alcohol.
Good luck. Just about every one I've ever seen is missing. The glue must have been defective.
You can have my old 4 speed knob-but it's missing the emblem.
Having recently purchased shift knobs from CruiserCrap, I can say they are extremely nice and Highly Recommended. They are on sale right now too.

I have looked into making replacement caps, for the OEM knobs, But they would not be metal. More of a domed emblem, like the TEQ emblems I used to sell. If enough people are interested again, I could pick this back up. -Mark
What I don't understand is how, once the 4-speed diagram cap finally comes off, it actually leaves the vehicle, never to be seen again.
I found my 5 speed cap when I took the center console/carpet out... I was VERY happy 
Loose shift knob caps are like socks at a laundromat. They just disappear!
