I’m not sure if I’m imagining it, but I feel like my 200 used to have some sort of illumination for the shifter. Like green for drive, red light for reverse. So you can glance down in the dark and see if you’re in drive, park, etc.. Am i right? Or is all of this taken care of on the dash display now? I’m teaching my teenager to drive and I can never tell if he has it in right gear in the dark without climbing over the seat and looking at the dash. I also don’t have any illumination on volume control, and all the stereo buttons.
Searched around but couldn’t find anything on 200 section. Just a lot of 80 guys with the drive light out.

Oh weird, well at least now I know I don’t need to take a bunch of stuff apart looking for a burnt out bulb.

I'm surprised nobody chimed in with some pictures - so... here is what the console on my 2013 LC200 looks like when illuminated:

The entire shift gate plate is backlit so the letters P,R.N,D, etc. are clearly visible at night, but the lighting on the shift plate does not change when a gear position is selected - the lighting is the same no matter the position of the shifter.

I was going to check my '08 for you yesterday, but forgot to drive it so I had an excuse to check.. hopefully tomorrow night

How much of a pain was it getting to the bulb? Also, did you need two bulbs, one for the shifter and one for the seats/crawl?

TIA

It wasn’t too bad. Get a plastic pry tool. Remove the knee pads on each side. Pull the silver vertical pieces (that hold the start button) straight out. Remove shifter knob. Start prying the pieces around the parking brake (remove the leather boot) once you remove the side pieces near the parking brake you can basically pull that entire shifter section up. You’ll need to also remove the cup holder prior to lifting shifter surround. The actual silver shifter ring doesn’t detach from the main center piece. It all comes up at once. Once you get the center piece removed you can see the bulb under a clear plastic housing that just pops off. Took me about 20 mins. It only takes one bulb. The crawl/ seat heaters must have their own bulb

Nice I’ll have to take it apart and replace my bulb. How about the lights around the screen? Temp up and down, etc... all that is dark on mine too. Maybe I have a blown fuse or something.

Here’s a night shot. I feel like maybe it’s a fuse since so much stuff isn’t illuminated? Anybody have any guess?
