She's offically dead!

I am pretty sad right now. I spent a lot of time getting my 40 back on the road a few weeks ago. I posted here that my press on harmonic balancer finally fell off, and that it had split down the side. I found a guy over the in the parts area that sold me one, for a really good price, and I spent this morning trying to get it installed. As soon as I tried to press it onto the crank, it split in the same place as the old one.

I am not going to tear this engine down to try and fix it for real, as I am simply not going to spend any money on it. I also don't have the extra cash right now to start the engine swap to a V8, so I guess she is going to be spending a lot of time in the garage until I can save up a few dollars.

I guess in the mean time I will start pulling everything out of her and start cleaning everything up.

Not that there is a great deal of demand for them, but my F engine, 3 speed tranny and matching transfer case are up for grabs. Anyone want them?

I thought I had found a smoking deal on a V8, transmission and transfer up in Utah, and was looking forward to making a road trip up to get it over Memorial Day, but that deal fell through this morning.
