Hi Everyone,

Everything was going well until I started removing the bolt that holds the high and low pressure lines to the rear A/C core. The bolt was moving, but then, I was just moving too fast and now I have a bolt stuck!

So, I wonder if anyone knows if the bolt is only threaded in the core and not the actual retaining plate, not sure what else to call it? If the plate isn't threaded then maybe I can pry the plate up and expose the rest of the bolt....

Other wise its easyout or just cap the rear line and forget about the rear..

Attaching a picture I stole from another thread about replacing the rear ac so you can see the bolt I'm referring to.

Thanks for your help!

Someone's already been in there. It should be stud and nutted.
Mine snapped leaving enough to grab on to with a stud tool.
I'd cut the head off and get the lines out of the way and then work at getting the rest out.

There is no plate, it's all core.

The bolt goes through the plate, the threads are only in the evap core. The plate rotates out of the way.

I had this happen to me. I used the easy out bolt extractor and it worked great. The hardest part is getting the drill bit started working upside down. Unbolt the rear mud flaps to get more room. Go slow. Don’t let any metal shavings fall in your eyes :)

I was thinking, since the head is gone from the bolt I could flip the plate out of the way and then have more of the bolt exposed. If the only threads are in the core, that seems possible. Thanks for the reply.
