Hoping the photos give a good idea of what I'm seeing. Changed all diff fluids today. No issues except front diff I felt had excessive amount of shavings and metal particals on the magnet. Some of those you can see sticking up off magnet were little shards. Thoughts? I also noticed the center and front diff oil had an Amber hue to it. It wasn't especially dirty, but color was not what I am used to as far as gear oil. Per Lexus records it was last changed at 74k miles. Currently sitting at 134k miles.

What about the Amber colored oil? Is that just a different brand or weight?

Thats because its used and its been heat cycled and is starting to break down. I just changed both diffs and my transfer case and the used oil was amber like yours in all of them

I changed my front diff fluid a few weeks ago, magnet looked similar to yours. My truck has 60k so IMO this is pretty normal.

You can send the sample into the lab and I am sure they will let you know that there is bronze and other materials in it. You have done the maintenance at the perfect time. If it was only 6 months ago, fractured gears/pinions, then it is time to worry. Great catch. Thanks for the share.
