Sept. 13 is the SFWDA 3 ed Quarter meeting and Trail ride at Mount Eagle.
The Damm Locals host this meeting and ride, they have access to 4800 acres of leased land and several other areas up there so there will be some great riding.
The meeting will begin at 9:00 AM (central time) and run till 11:00 AM. The meeting will be held at the Tracy City Elementary School cafeteria (same as last year). Breakfast foodswill be served (coffee,juice,water,danish,sausage/biscuit) and there will be trail rides immediately afterwards. Trail ride sign-in shets will be at the cafeteria. Trails rides will begin at the fair grounds, immediately behind the school. Trail bosses will have a tech inspection for each group. There will be hot food availible at the fair ground concession stand after the trail rides. This will be on donation basis and all money will go to help a member of the DamnLocals 4x4 Club that has a serious illness.
There will be signs up to help guide participants to the school the day of the meeting. Primitive camping will be availible at the fair grounds. No hook ups. Rest rooms on site. The fair grounds will be open on the Friday night before the meeting and the club will hold a meeting there that night.
Take I-24 to exit 134, follow Hwy 41 south towards Tracy City, the fair grounds will be on the right after the large military surplus vehicles sales company.

do you have to be a sfwda member to attend?

i'll try to make this one. if i don't have a lot of work lined up for sat.

Do they have gas up there? There's a run on gas in Chattanooga and I'm getting reports from co-workers that they are completely out of gas in some smaller towns. Gas station I just stopped at had premium only.

:bang:I paid 4.09 for regular in Tullahoma today
not only do I have work one my truck tommorow I must work for work also

This was a great ride and we will be doing a club ride up there, maybe New Years day. I did some of the more challenging trails until I broke my frame.

Ouch! Anybody else in here make it up? What have they got in the way of "easy" trails (wagon friendly)?

i was there had a good time riding with a great bunch of people. and yes there are plenty of "easy" trails. rodger how did you break your frame?

sliders and some kind of skid plates are a must for long wheel base low ground clearance vehicles (lots of creek rocks) in the past i ran most of the main trails with 31" ATs and open diffs. there are a lot of dry creek beds and hill climbs for people looking for a challange.

Thats where my frame broke, may have been cracked for awhile as the break was behind the plate where my sliders are bolted.

Talked to Bob today, he and David spent two days exploring and found some great trails and camping spots. He has suggested we schedule a two or three day ride and camp.

rodger i have ride planned for sept.28th. could do some scouting for a future stlca run.
