Just picked up a very clean 2005 with 51k on the clock. Vehicle hadn't been driven much in the last 12 months (only 1,000 mi or so) and has been garage kept for its entire life. According to the PO's service records, not much had been done other than religious oil changes.

What service would be recommended (aside from a needed oil change). I know if I ask the dealer, they'll have me doing all sorts of unneeded stuff, so I was hoping a few experts could give me real world advice. Thanks in advance!

Actually, If oil changes have been done religiously.... I would just have a trusted independent mechanic give it a good visual inspection. you are almost at the 60K service which will give a good base line. If you aren't going to be driving it much and think it might be a while before you hit 60K.... you could go ahead and get it done now.

Thanks for the advice. I'm a bit mechanically illiterate though. Can you shed some light on "baseline fluids"? Maybe just a quick bullet list of fluids I should have changed?

Diff fluid, transfercase fluid, brake and power steering fluid. AHC fluid it your truck has it.

^+1^

It only has 51k miles on it. Just change the oil, check the fluids, and drive it.
