That's a little creepy. Phrase by phrase plagiarism. Not sure what the point of it is though, aside from being creepy.

Sometimes I feel like I am a sociopath magnet.

It's not you, dude ain't hooked up right.

Great trip, we hit Grand Canyon & Zion on our honeymoon..... did you stop at the Vermellion(sp?) Cliffs Bar & Grill after crossing the Colorado river.....?

For me, it's the Sirius Satalite radio, my lexan french press for a great cup of coffee in the morning, and a small bottle of white gas (used for my backpacking/back-up stove) I can use to intantly start a fire.

just to name a few, every one of his posts is a paraphrase of someones previous post. He does this on many forums. He owns/works at Capital Steel Buildings in Narellan Austrailia.

It sounds like a spammer, they often will quote someone else almost word for word.
I have had it done to me before using my exact same words on other forums, then in their sig line they had their spam links.

Thankfully the nut job is on a different continent.

Hmmm, but there are no links in his posts. Perhaps he gets some satisfaction in messing up forum threads. Sorry to participate in his thread-jack, but IMO he needs to be banned.

I see he only has 15 posts, does Mud require a higher post count before you can have links in your sig?
Some sites set it up so you have to have so many posts before you can have links.

Ross,
Is your FJ a stick or auto? I'm thinking of a new build, FJ on 1 tons/coils. I'v kind'a been shopping. I'll catch up to you at the Christmas party, I have a few more questions?

Tim

I was never a huge fan of the FJC, but my wife talked me into getting one for her. I have to admit that I really love it. We have owned it for a month and it's one of the coolest vehicles I've ever owned. I saw head on collision in the Atlanta rain this evening. It was a Subaru wagon vs an FJC. The FJC looked barely scratched, wheras the Subaru looked like it had hit a brick wall. It was clearly totaled.

Also in the market for a FJC

I'm also currently looking for a FJ.

Is it true that all 4WD models come with the locking rear diff?

I was looking at a 2011 model today that is almost perfect, but I'm really looking for a used one. They wanted $31k out the door. Black steel wheels, roof rack upper and lower lights on the bumper and the roof rack. Atrack, locking diff, No tow hitch.
I don't need the roof rack or the roof lights.

My poor old FJ62 is going to go up for sale soon..

No, not all come with rear locker. I believe all that have ATRAC and rear locker allow for both to operate at the same time.

Honestly, I think ATRAC is enough for 95%. The only time ATRAC doesn't work is when your foot is on the brake.

Price seems high. I'd look more.

it wasn't till the later part of 2007 and on did they change the setup so that atrac and locker can work simultaneously, if you get one of the first ones, you have to do a hack.

Did they change it so that the locker works in H4? We do lots of sand driving around here and H4 with a locker would bring the win.

My FJ rocks up in 2 weeks! Can't wait.

Nope, locker only works in 4 low.
There is a hack though to get the locker to work in 4H and 2WD.

Had a 2007, regretted buying it. Cheap plastic interior, worthless for hauling my dogs in, unless I wanted it to get all beat up. Traded it in on a 2011 Taco, and bought my '77 FJ40. All is good, YMMV.

Not sure what you mean by cheap, or how the Taco interior would be different? How did the plastic change from when you purchased it? We're you hauling dogs on the seats or in the back?

Rather, when i test drove one i found that while the interior was plastic (which is good IMO) it was high quality. if you want cheap plastic try a workmate hilux. i can see hauling dogs being an issue for some with the lack of opening rear windows, of course proper research would have shown this.:meh: for me this thing should be perfect; young, single no pets, nothing to tow and plenty of australia to explore. cant wait!:bounce::bounce2:

I find the plastic in my 2007 FJ to be very high quality compared to other new vehicles out there.

Now the dash on my older Toyotas was more pliable, but I actually like the look and feel of the FJs plastic better.

I just think sliding something pretty non abrasive over the plastic shouldn't leave marks in it. Cardboard actually left marks in my FJC, and hitting the driver's door with a shoe getting out did the same. The same can't be said for the Taco interior. I hauled my dogs in the back of the FJC, and after witnessing what their nails did to the plastic, had them in a soft side kennel. They hated that, I hated putting the kennel in the FJC every time, so it went down the road. Now they just jump in the back of the Taco, and we go. I'm sure some will think that I'm being too picky, but I like to take care of my stuff, and have it last a long time, in good shape, (one of the reasons I drive a Toyota in the first place). I had my '93 P/U for 15 years, and sold it, sight unseen, except for a few pics on Craigslist, for very good money. The guy that bought it told me that he only needed to see the one picture of the interior, to tell him the truck had been taken care of.

This is a FJC thread, so I trust most here will disagree with me, and that's fine. I'm just recounting my thoughts and experience.
