These little bastards are making me crazy. They leak, then don't, they leak, then don't. Vehicle is a 1985 FJ60, desmoged so they don't do anything but plug the ports in the housing. I've tried many thread sealants to no avail.
Does any know what size aftermarket brass plug would fit in these ports, or will I have to have a machine shop make these which would be insanely expensive for what they are. Any help will be appreciated .

i had one that i thought was leaking. had the threads re-taped in the housing. teflon taped it. stopped leak. however, my leak could have also been from the gasket between the housing and the head. you will have to take this off most likely to get to them. could fix both at the same time.

my mechnic friend had a metric tap.

a brass should be available, just finding the right place to buy it from...... shouldn't be more than a few $$.

I have a new one waiting to be installed. Pitch is 1.25 but I don't have a die to fit. Calipers messure it to be 16.47mm ???

just take the sensor and take it to a supply house where they would sell pipe fittings and they should be able to match threads for you use a little expando if it really will not stop leaking expando will definately help you out

You can also use the putty type epoxy (as seen on tv) from inside out the plug, but your best bet is to take them out, I took one out and used the hole for a temp sending unit.

PS Even with the housing busted in the corner, still no leaks.
