Secondary air injection system (1 Viewer)

Hi All,

New to the 470 but pretty sure this is the secondary air system. Got my GX470 1 month ago so still learning. It is a 2008. This wire looked out of place so started investigating. Any details you guys might have would be great and what should I do.

This wire goes from the sensor, under the air box, to the firewall, out the drivers side engine bay, and to a relay in the fuse block. Looks rigged and just shoved in there.

Is this the aftermarket one?

That looks to be a SAIS bypass
Pretty similar to the Slyfox75 bypass I got off eBay but a bit different. So maybe it is a homebrew. It it works I'd leave it alone, outside of cleaning up the wiring.

It’s the Hewitt tech bypass kit. I have the same one. Just leave it be.

the bigger question is did the prior owner install the block off plates or not. If you look at the smaller exhaust piping for the sais system that comes off the manifold, toward the firewall where 2 pipes mate together you’ll see a metal gasket in between. If there is an additional metal piece sandwiched between then the block off plates are also installed.
