The scat procar are garbage IMO. They will hurt your ass after 1/2 hour, unless you favor that.............

The Moab is not much better.

I know they are more $ but I would look into PRP, Beard, & Master Craft before purchasing.

FWIW Honda Civic seats fit nicely and are actually comfy and have some decent spring in the bottom, not like a suspension seat but better than the Scat/Pro car.

You gotta bounce in them to really see if you are sitting in them on display. The cheap ones you will feel the steel sub frame when compressed. Plus, look at the material that is used to support the bottom of seat, is it crap, or is it woven parachute cord, or even better the 2.5" wide elastic strap that is sewn onto a nylon strap and secured with a double wrap around frame. Look at the bottom of a few different ones and you'll see what I am talking about.

There is a huge difference when riding all day in my Honda seats and if I was smart and got some PRP's it would be really nice and my back would feel much better at end of day.

I actually snaked a set of removable seats out of the back of an oddessy (the van, not the old yellow off road buggy). It took a little modification to fit them in, cut off rails, make bracket to fit stock bolting, etc.

But they are totally awesome seats, very comfortable, high backed, double armrest. I can travel for hours, jump out of my FJ40, and feel as if I have only drove down to the local 7-11.

If you are not concerned with time I bet you could find a nice pair at Pick & Pull, with a little luck too.

Just an option, very nice seats, and probably a whole lot cheaper. I got really lucky, got mine for free, Thanks Pat, and only took me about three hours to mount them.

The foam in the Corbeaus wheres out after a short time ( I have them).
Then you feel the frame.
Go suspension seats

I have PRP pretean seats for my kids and it has nice foam. Don't know what the big seats are like.
Sat in the Mastercraft Suspension seats teh otehr day and they feel almost like a stock seat as the webbing was so tight.
Get one with a lower bolster on teh side so you can get in and out of them.

Thanks for all the great input! I'm definitely going to look into the suspension seats now after reading about them. I'll give a review and post some picks when I finally make a purchase. I'm not in a big hurry so it might be a month or so. Thanks again and if anyone else has input I'm still listening. :)

I'm finding it hard to find places that have seats on display to sit my butt in. Tried MasterCraft suspension, way more than I plan on spending. Tried Smitty built suspension and wasn't to impressed. I'm hoping to try the Corbeau Baja RS suspension seat. I definitely want something with sliders and a recliner and not to hard on the pocket book. So far the Corbeau seem to be a good choice.

I've been running some APC-brand racing buckets in The Mule since about two days after I bought her, and here are my thoughts:

Not worth it. Celica or Acura seats are much better IMO. Racing buckets get a tad uncomfortable on long trips, like my 8-hour drive to go shooting, or long, relaxed fall drives on 1. They're simply too stiff, and their shape really cuts into my legs and makes my knees sore. Plus the "wings" of the seat-sides get mashed flat by guests, like the guys at Yodaman, my camping buddies, or the (very) rare date, they also interfere with the smooth operation of my [STRIKE]ammo canister[/STRIKE] center console, and the plastic brackets for the harness-style seat belts snag hair from the back of my head.

Soon as I get a break from the rain (and The Mule back from the shop), I'm swapping them out for a splitbench from an Olds.

Sam, go Acura Integra or Pontiac Fiero Seats in your truck. You won't regret it. you have to redrill 1 hole per seat. James told me this and it has been the best move on my First Gen truck. I went wth the Acura seats. In the FJ40 I have the Corbeau's.

This time around, I'll definitely try those. I'd wanted the racing buckets in a car since my '78 Corolla, and this was the first shot at them cheap, and now I know why.
Though Larry's got some Taco seats I'd like to look at, too.

Not sure there would be enough room for those. I had 4runner seats in mine when I got it and they where way cramped. The acura and Fierro seat are closer to the floor boards and allow you slide back a little more.
