Today at the car wash they broke my seat motor somehow, it goes all the way forward but now it won’t go back, it seems to be stuck at the front of its travel so I can no longer get in the car. Does anyone have any experience with such a problem, or know the best way to fix it?

Sadly there’s no sign of a white cap, is this where it should go?
I couldn’t figure out where to put the 14mm socket ether?

Yes, that's where it goes. Your plastic gear inside is likely stripped out now and will need replacement. PITA. You can manually ratchet the seat back with a wrench and just leave it there.

My seat leather is totally messed up too, maybe it’s time to replace the whole thing - any suggestions as to the best source for a complete seat?

There are a couple threads here dedicated to seat replacements.

How thick is your wallet? How comfortable can you afford to be? I was just reviewing another thread this morning and that person spent as much as $2K per front seat to buy seats, brackets, and install on his own.

When I checked into doing mine, recovering the front seats with new cushions was about $1500 to do both front seats and me doing the labor.

Were you able to fix your seat one way or the other? I had a similar issue, white cap fell out, but I kept it nearby. Has a phillips head, so if you find one/it, hold it in the cavity with a screwdriver to prevent it from spinning, and the seat may be able to move back (that's how I got mine to move back, anyways).
Other seats? There are threads...I've seen people replace stock with seats from a Subaru(?) or with aftermarket (Corbeau?).

I was able to source the parts, now I just have to find time to rebuild it all!
