Wife's grocery getter needs new shoes. 07 stock 470 (though I'm pleading to lift it). Stock P265x65x17s are going to be done soon. Can I go any bigger (aspect, mainly - say 70 series?) without a rub or having to lift or trim?

Oh - and why is this thing spec'd for P-series tires and not LTs??? I tow a 3000lb trailer regularly - shouldn't I have something with 6 plys, not 4?

Kind thanks - you're all making me jealous as **** with the mods.

265/70/17 fits fine, some report minor rubbing at full lock but I've never noticed on mine.

Sounds good and I imagine it looks a little better than stock sizing - pics?
Also assume it threw the speedo off 3% or so?
Any other little weirdness to it (nav affects, mpg drop, etc)?
:)

I haven't taken any long trips but around town, my MPG kinda sucks at around 15 and I just changed the oil and spark plugs when I did the tires. The speedo is only 1.5% off (compared to GPS) and was the same amount off in the other direction with the stock tires. I hope the highway mileage gets as near as before (averaged 17.0MPG at 80MPH on a 600mile trip). My mother's 2005 4Runner gets 18-19 combined but she drives like, well, a grandmother.

The bigger factors when getting tires with such a small size change will really be in the tread and sidewall design which will also affect economy, traction, ride quality and noise.
