Sunroof leaks. It's also broken in the mostly closed position but I don't want to fix it because it's expensive and I don't really use it. It won't quite go into the full up position. Suggestions for sealing it or otherwise stopping the leak ? I was thinking of putting a shim to force it into the up position and possibly then using duct tape. Any other ideas ?

Tube of silicone sealant? Not quite as down and dirty as duct tape but still won't break the bank and will probably work better.

I shimmed mine up and used black RTV gasket maker from NAPA. Has not leaked since. I can take a picture and describe the process if you are interested. Duct tape would look awful imo but would be easily removed. I am keeping my truck till it goes to heaven so all my mods are done with that in mind.

You could use the same type adhesive/sealer that is used for automobile windshields; it holds better than regular silicone sealants.

Cannon88: did you weld sheet metal over your sunroof? If so did you start a thread on the process?

I know this is an old thread but seems like a common issue. My 2000 LC sunroof doesn't open and water gets all over the carpet every time it rains. My question is does anyone make a tape better than duct tape that would seal the edges of the sunroof from the top? Seems like with all the high tech stuff out there these days you could find a product like that which would last and no leak but could be applied like tape. Any ideas?
