I know that's alot but it's been my experience that high end stereo installers, jack of all trade guys are usually a good fit for this type of position. Specialty Vehicle Technician
Recent contract awards within the first responder public safety vehicle market require this East County specialty vehicle outfitter to fill immediate openings within our production team. Competitive wage packages, benefits coverage and 401K participation will be made available to successful candidates. AEP offers wages commensurate with candidate experience levels. Overtime hours may be required as production rates continue to expand.
Team leaders within this dynamic enterprise are currently seeking highly skilled technicians for immediate placement.
The AEP specialty technician’s daily assignments:
· Installation of aftermarket structural components into public safety and specialty vehicles.
· Integration of aftermarket electronics into new and currently deployed emergency vehicles.
· System design, documentation, testing and inspection of vehicles prior to delivery.
· Troubleshooting and repair of aftermarket components in previously outfitted vehicles.
A minimum of five years’ experience outfitting vehicles:
· An advanced understanding of 12 volt electrical systems and proven skills in troubleshooting analysis.
· Design and installation experience in the areas of audio/video, communications and networking.
· Strong mechanical abilities in addition to wood and metal fabrication experience.
· A proven record of successful team participation and the ability to work independently.
· Advanced hand and power tool knowledge is a must.
· Team members are required to learn quickly and adapt to a challenging and fast paced work environment. This team environment demands completion of projects within specified timeframes and without defect.
Requirements:
· Necessary hand and power tools as well as appropriate tool storage.
· Pass a mandatory substance abuse screening
· Possess a valid driver’s license
