Scraped up cruiser a bit — any reccos on how to fix?

Spent a full day last weekend on tight northeastern trails and not a single scratch despite hitting a couple of gnarly thunks.

fast forward to this weekend...visiting family in DC. Parked in underground parking garage to run some errands at the mall. The exit is twisty and at a 40 degree incline...wasn’t paying attention and managed to scrape up part of the truck. Serves me right for mall crawling I suppose.

no dents just the scratches pictured below. Anyone have any reccos on how to go about getting this addressed? Could a body shop take care of it by sanding and repainting?

EDIT: Does anyone have any reccos on paint or auto body shops in Houston, TX?

Ouch - those self-inflicted ones are the worst. A good body shop could knock that out quickly, but you definitely want to get that addressed as you got down to the base metal there. A little filler and some sanding and then paint. It’s a small enough area it can be blended in. Depending on your wet-sanding skills you could probablyDIY. Your vehicle is pretty new so you may want to go with a top tier shop,but it’s not a tough job. A lot of detail shops know body guys who moonlight. It’s a job i would trust to that type of service. No panels to realign, no crease to keep straight, and no underpinnings to repair. Good luck.

I would take it to a paint guy and have only the damaged area repaired and blended.

I had almost the exact damage to my nearly new vehicle a little over a year ago. Because of where the damage is, the a pillar all the way back down to the rear quarter panel will need to be resprayed. The roof rack comes off and they likely will butcher that part like they did on mine.
All said and done, I ended up having like nearly the entire side of the vehicle repainted.

I would not do that again knowing what I know now. My 2 American pesos…

Looks like your rig is black, which is easy to blend. $950 seems reasonable tbh.

I am a hobby painter, but I'd take the clear off the entire damaged panels and then blend some paint over the damaged panel and a bit into the good panel. I'd then re-clearcoat the entire damaged panels to get it all to blend. I'd imagine most shops would do something similar.

Best work I ever had done was Sewell Lexus Body Shop. They did one about that size on my 4 Runer years ago and it matched perfectly.
