Hi all, I’ve been poking around here but think it’s time to add a build thread. I’ll do my best to include my decisions and why I made them. I’m coming from an almost fully built Tundra, and am excited to take advantage of the awesome GX platform. Already enjoying the nimbleness, cat like traction, and comfort level.

Picked a not so easy trail 3 weeks into ownership!

Made a sleeping platform/storage unit after deleting the third row. Looking forward to the next trip with this added usability.

I also added the largest tire I could get in the spare location which was a 265/65r18. I know it’s not ideal but I plan to go straight to the tire shop if/when I have to use it. I will get a full size spare at some point.

I ordered a Gamiviti rooof rack and Ironman awning yesterday!

Future plans include simple swing out rear bumper, sliders, and front fascia cut. Also in the market for a quickset tent or double swag tent (nothing is really available right now and I’m not sure exactly what I want). I have decided to forego the RTT for a lot of reasons.

Some of those trails look better suited for your mt bike! ;)

Lexus of Greenville did a decent job fixing my alignment issue. Think they got it the best they could without aftermarket UCA’s. It’s hard to find a tech that will actually listen and adjust competently. I gave up with Firestone.

The top alignment was very touchy at speed. I’m hitting a mountain road tomorrow with bikes and gear in tow so I’ll send it to check out the new adjust.
I’ll probably end up “springing” for UCAs next year sometime.

Update: New alignment drove great! Found a new rub in the front from the increase in caster. May be time for that front fascia cut I’ve been wanting to do.

So which one is you?
"... in high style", I'm always teasing the guys in our 4x4 club about being out in the desert with their windowless, topless, bikini top clad Jeeps and my wife and I are in our GX with her climate zone and mine to our own comfort level, and our seat coolers blasting away! :)

I’m on the far right in the group photo. Yes, climate zones and ac in the seats ❤️

Looking to go with these here soon. Bashfab is a great custom protection and off-road fabricator in Columbia SC. He really knows his Toyotas. My Tundra sliders, bumpers, and skid were from him. Top notch work.

One thing I'd modify on those sliders is some sort of cut-out so if one tips on their side, there's a large enough hole to put a tow strap or something through to pull on. If you were to put chain or rope, you'd probably either bend the plating or cut the rope.
But yes, they are good looking sliders!!

I’m one step ahead of you. I asked if he could delete a plate. Good catch!
