The Schubarth Road Trail Run is this Saturday, January 21st.

Haven't seen anything posted on it, so thought I would get a thread going.

Meet up at the Western Gas Station near Woodland Park about 8:30 am, and head for the trail around 9 am. This is a fun snow run, come prepared for it!

It will have to be a game time decision for me. Has always been a great run.

I'm planning on making the Run see you at the Western Saturday morning.

I plan to be there. Anyone opposed to 8:00/8:30 time frame to allow for a bit more daylight on the trail (in case of temporary detainment - not to be confused with "stuck") and/or getting home a little earlier?

I suspect Kyle suggested the original 8:30/9:00 due to his longer drive from Pueblo.

I have the club air tank; I will be there, hopefully on time! :steer:

sorry guys, meant to post up last night I wasn't going to make it. This is my last day I have off with TL before I head back to KC for 4 weeks, and she wanted to spend the day with me, not wheeling! I just noticed a couple days ago nobody posted about the run this weekend, so I posted up. I'll be gone all next month, but hope to jump in in March again!

Well, if you weren't on this trail ride, you missed a good one!

Six rigs in all--Grimeless, EricG, Jarredb, Black95, Pops, and myself. Luke and I were the black sheep--he was in the Blue-Jay and I was in the Deja Blue ('88 Trooper). It was supposed to be my son, TJ, driving (since it's his truck!), but he backed out last night late (partying too hard?)
Luke's #1 daughter was driving the Blue-Jay. She did great!

Sorry I missed it, looks like a good time but not that much snow.

Yea, I felt a little silly all chained up. But Luke chained up. So I figured, if I wanted to get out alive, I'd better chain up also :grinpimp:

I'm glad I was chained when we made that left turn back into the draw; that draw was a drift-catcher (the deepest segment of the trail).

Plus, chaining-up was good practice!

Looks like a fun run and that video is a professional piece of work.

Topic whiplash: I've yet to break down and buy a set of chains for the FJ60.

Question: Can anyone recommend a good quality brand? Tire size 33 x 10.5/R15.

Years ago I had a few sets of chains and some of them were junk.

Mine are old school style i.e. cross chains. I can't remember the brand but I purchased mine on line and they are for the size tire you have. Hard to find them locally.

A few years ago a few of us got chains from the MHC Kenworth dealership. They were for semi's but fit a 285/75 - 16 all you had to do is cut them to length. They are the cam lock type and well made. We got 2 sets (4 chains ) for about the price you can get one pair elsewhere.

Thanks for the compliment! I write trail guides for trailsoffroad.com, and made this video since the original writer (a guy from Castle Rock) didn't make a video with his guide last summer; there are hundreds more videos on the youtube channel, mostly in Colorado, Arizona, California, and Washington. But there are also videos for trail guides in about a dozen other states, plus New Brunswick, Canada.

I will check out trailsoffroad....thanks.
