So I am dropping a 1UZ into a 76 pig with a 1990 4runner r150f transmission and have the ebay special kit for the bellhousing.

The kit came with a flywheel, but they say to use the automatic ring gear from the 1UZ.

I can buy a flywheel from rockauto cheaper than I can have the ring gear transferred and balanced, but I have no idea if this will work... thoughts?

Is is just a matter of counting teeth and diameter and is there a place I can look this info up?

Call either Marlin or A/A. They should be able to answer your question.

To remove the ring gear, put flywheel in the freezer for a few days. Flywheel will contract from the cold. Then warm just the ring gear with propane torch and tap it off.

To install ring gear reverse procedure. Freeze flywheel, warm ring gear and tap into place. Should not need balancing.
