I bought my LC from the dealership at 155K. Its time for an oil change.

What else should I have inspected/done? My Timing Belt was changed at 100K.

Any maint. particular to fluids/drivetrain/lines etc that would be required around 160K miles? I believe the factory maint. schedule stops around 120K.

Thanks for any help.

IMO, if you don't have any evidence that any of the fluids and lubricants have been serviced, then I would do them all. Tranny, xfer case, diffs, coolant, break fluid, steering fluid, wheel bearings, drive line. I imagine that would rack up quite a bill at the dealership, but you can do all of this yourself with high quality materials for ~$600. Everything should be less than  except the wheel bearings. A lot of good guidance in the FAQ sticky

Thanks Bkgee,

I guess what I am looking for is the OEM service schedule. I would think that if the OEM Service schedule stops at 120K miles, and all maint. was done accordingly up to 155K miles on my LC (Dealership maint. records when purchased), then I should have started the maint. schedule over at 120K miles.

This would mean that I should do the 40K mile service according to the OEM Service schedule at 160K miles. Does that make sense?

Does anyone have an OEM service schedule handy?

At 160K with a "new to you" vehicle I think the inspection parts of the maintenance schedules is really the key. You could easily spend a couple grand in "baseline" maintenance but I think your time and money are better spent looking for problems first and then setting up your own plan to get to all the "baseline" items over the next couple of years.

Checking all the fluids, brakes, battery, and suspension components will keep you busy for a while.

Sounds reasonable to me but I would read all the dealer records to see what was done when. just because it went to the dealer does not mean all the services were performed.

Perfect! Thanks NMuzj, I will have my mechanic do a thorough inspection, looks like brakes more than anything need to be looked at. Of course I will get the oil changed, tires rotated, and prop shaft lubed.
