A recent purchase...
and now need to figure out how I want them to mount

was thinking of making a basket type mount (frame supported)...
rather the boxing off the ends of the fenders and killing what little approach angle this trailer has.

Anyone else mount these 10L "Runt" cans to their trailer ?
pics or a link would be greatly appreciated.
could use a little kick start.... for motivation...
thanks... if ya got any sense to throw in :)

sooo... high or low mount ?

I did the Rotopax 2 gallon from TRDParts4U, they had the best price. One on each side.

I guess I'm not clear if these are for water or fuel?

The rotopax with the locking handles were 4 bolts (or screws...or welded for that matter) and done...nothing to make.

Help it helps....

Pat

Oh...dif high..

If you look at the commercial aussie trailers, they have something to block the dirt being thrown by the vehicle. You may want to consider putting something up to block "stuff" getting thrown on your water cans or locate them in a different place.

first look tells ya they're just sitting ducks... tho' that thar plastic is purdy dang tuff

I've decided the cans will be 180*'d, cap(s) facing rearward...

a sheet metal splash/rock shield will be incorporated to the forward side, of the can(s), at their mount...
maybe some slip covers to boot... Like to keep dirt/dust/mud build up... off the cap(s)

I just haven't really worked all that thru muh head yet...

kinda exposed there
could build something neat to hang them from the spare tire?

The cans mounted on the front will not get that dirty providing you have"decent" mud flaps on your tow rig.

I like the high mount better, providing it is mounted on the trailer C channel frame.

Maybe... but then that area becomes too busy, (cluttered)
and would make accessing the spare a hassle, I'd think

my trailer came with 4 metal jerry can holders...
I moded them a bit to hold my Scepter jerry cans...

Check out post #12 on....

Nope... no mud flaps... hopeful in avoiding mud, when I can
But I'll incorporate a splash shield on the forward side of the can...
and that should help, at very least, deflect most of whats getting kicked up by the hauler.

Off topic, how about a pic of your wheel chock holder?

Very very

'cause one... is less fun. ;p

perch(s) were added, so the chocks remain in position..
regardless of the spare tire mounted or not...

Nice mods. I like the chock block mount and spare tire mount.

Do you have more pics of the hitch assembly?

If I was running the 10L cans, I would use a 20L to set the mount position, giving the option of using a 20L can at some point.

I have a springover on my trailer, so I have plenty of ground clearance.

Also going to mount some 20mm/40mm ammo cans for non-perishable food, probably on the sides behind the fender.

might as well post something pertaining...

been too hot for welding outta or in muh garage,
coupla' hours in 'da morn'n at best.
tho' I did make a little progress,
by completing the weld up of the can'(s) base/platform

the next few steps will show where I'm going with this design
