Based on maybes and a request to postpone till next Saturday, I'm gonna postpone till next Saturday, 12/16/06.

This still on? The wife would like to do something this Saturday, this sounds good.

I'm still in line for it. Bob's planning on coming (Red Jeep). I think Josh is in...

....Unfortunately Josh is out. I have Holiday party duties to attend to for work that were just laid upon me.

I think this run is cursed.

I and the wife are in. Someone should edit the thread title to reflect the new date, so people who weren't interested in the earlier date (and therefore didn't bother looking at the thread) have a chance to see the change.

Ok, were on, same plan as last week, but we plan to go:o

We'll meet at Ba'ja on the Bush Highway on the east side of Fort McDowell road 08:30ish. Pull out by 09:00. Should be long day, so bring lunch and drinks. It could also be chilly as we'll get just over 6,000 feet, so bring a jacket. I'll have the trail description with me tonite for anyone who's interested.

Howdy! It's been a while since I have gone "cruisin" up on 4Peaks. Count me in. I will be at the Friday night meet, too. John

Trip Report

Well, it was a long, typical winter day in the mountains. A mild overcast muting the sun, a stiff breeze on the mountain ridge, and a chilly 55 degrees. The scenery ranged from spectacular to down right spooky in some of the burned out areas from the lone pine fire.

We had 5 vehicles - Inkpot, AZ_FJ, Spike, Crash Pilot Bob, and yours turly. The trail was easy and long, except for a little 3.3 mile side trip we took to see some mines - one we missed because I passed it before I knew it and one which was just a samll hole that had been filled in - but the trail was cool.

I only got a few pics, but here are a few more. Our side trip did have some decent rocks, a few washouts, and finished with a 1/2 mile pretty steep climb.

The best part of the run was NOT driving the ugliest rig on the trail! :D

Howdy!! :pig: Yup, Crash Pilot Bob needs to do something about that red:skull: Jeep. I enjoyed :smokin: the day. I had never made it that far north:crybaby: of 4 peaks. I'm ready to go "mine cruising" any time. Bob's welcome by me:cool: anytime. Sometimes the magnitude of the scenery:popcorn: is more important that the size of the:eek: boulders. John:grinpimp:

P.S. Did you steer better with a little more air??:whoops:

LOL, yep, I forgot to air up the right front. Got distracted when the Fish and Game warden stopped by while we were airing up. I like talking to those guys- they live and work where we want to be, so they have good information.

Yeah, the red Jeep was sure ugly, that put me at #3 on the 'ugliest rig' list. :D

Wow, I feel so much better after 12 hours of sleep. By the time I got to bed I had been up for 31 hours. You can tell I'm not in college anymore. I wouldn't even have noticed the lack of sleep back then.

Thanks, Carl, for arranging this we had a great time.

-Spike (BTW, you ever wheel that thing anymore?;p )

yeah i just spent 3 days and two nights hunting for indian ruins in some pretty remote area,,, saw a pack of about 45 angry antelope too. havent rreally been in the mood for "trail runs" lately mostly exploring and longer distance overland stuff. 6-7 weeks ago i did a 400+ mile loop around wickenburg area looking for new mines.
