A few pages here or there to help a brother out in dire straits seems ethically and morally ok...at least in my book (but then again, I've been called a liberal democrat for years now :flipoff2: ).
The "to hell with Toyota because they made plenty of money...just help a poor brotha out and screw the 'man'" sentiment leans a bit more left of "liberal democrat" -- closer to communist (not that there's anything wrong with the concept of communism...and no, I'm not calling you a communist! :D ).

I don't think $10 is not at all a bad price to get access to this info. I'm thinkin' about getting the LX 450 version download to supplement my LC FSM.

Is that relevant?

I think it is fully relevant.

I support Toyota only because they make a good product (LC/FSM, OEM, etc.), but on the other hand, do I think they're greedy capitalists? You bet I do. Do I think they have my best intentions in mind? I doubt it. Do I think certain dealers, parts manager (ahem!) are in it to help the loyal patrons of Toyota (many of whom get screwed regularly by dealers, etc.)--yes, indeed. All hail our important OEM supply source!

In any event, I think the FSM is a very important resource and a very important companion in dealing with all things LC. But do I think it is worth $80 or so? NOt really considering it is designed for dealerships, repair places that make tons of money anyway, so forking out $80 for one of these is chump change.

For those of us who don't have that type of money all the time, I think $80 is a bit steep. But I sprung for it. Did it help me this weekend during the Front axle service? Yes. WOuld I hesitate to scan a few pages for someone in need--no doubt I would.

I was actually thinking of scanning the entire FSM and then sharing it as BT-style p2p. But I already have way too much on my plate already. That might be a summer project.

I myself have "helped a brotha out" several times. There's a limit to helping someone and being someones personal copy secretary. The reason I help out is because for those that don't use an FSM, they really don't know what they're missing. And they usually buy one themselves after that. Hell a POS Chilton will cost you $25-$30 and is a 5th the size. (I have both) So is Autozone a bunch of "greedy capitalists"?

Look up GREED in the dictionary...you'll see that it mirrors a lot of your own statements.

I' m cheap so I'll download it from the website for $10. Thanks for the input. PEace.

Safado:

Now, that's a little harsh don't you think? I mean really, where does one get off staying that about someone they don't know?

My statements are just my feelings--as if we all act on our feelings? Eh?

Sorry to have acted 'greedy.' :whoops:

Here is the definition I found in my dictionary, and I'm not sure my statements purport to being in this vain:

An excessive desire to acquire or possess more than what one needs or deserves, especially with respect to material wealth: “Many... attach to competition the stigma of selfish greed”

Then again, one person's 'greed' is another person's virtue.

Best.

I bought the CD from Ebay for $8. Cds like these are nice to have in the truck when you don't wanna carry the manuals. I've done the same thing with my other vehicles in the past.
