I did not do the build. Me personally I like aluminum heads... Less weight. If I end up going to Afghanistan in August I am pulling the 383 and dropping in an LS1 back by a GM400 and a Stak T-Case.

BTW my friend just emailed me he thinks the compression ratio is around 9.5 to 1

ram jet 350 .

if i ever replaced my carbed 350 it would be with a ramjet 350 or a ls1 .

of course i would rather have a 5.7 hemi but thats me .

i love fuel injection , once it is set up and everything is waterproofed properly it works awesome . no comparison .

Here is a VERY good Ram-Jet swap thread if you guys haven't seen it yet. It lets you know what you'd be betting yourself into.

Unless you are running dished pistons with 64cc chambers your compression is higher than 9.5. Flat top pistons that are 0.020" in the hole with a 3.75" stroke comes out to about 10.8 to 1. With iron heads that would need 93 octane or better.
