G'day, I finally signed up here on ih8mud, I've been lurking about this great site since I purchased my 100series 6+years ago. This site has helped massively over years that I've been setting up my cruiser. Hopefully I can help contribute from what I've learnt by building up

my cruiser.

It's a 2004 HDJ100 auto 5speed A750 and 4.2l td (1HD-FTE).
It's taken me 5years to build it into my ideal remote touring/overlander. It's setup is for long range outback touring/camping and short weekenders to just getting out there to explore new trails ect.
Mods I've done to it are...
- Aus spec Icon stage4 suspension with reinforced front a-arms and torsion bars adjusters.
- Front and rear Pro lockers.
- 25% Reduction gears.

- HD transmission valve body.
- Emuwing rear window doors.
- ARB front deluxe bar with scrubs, side steps and Tjm 12klb winch.
- Kaymar rear bar.
- 185L long ranger auxiliary fuel tank.
- 16x9 Dynamic wheels +30 offset.
- 285/75r16 Maxis Razr MT772.

Interested to know more about the work you did on your A750 valve body. Nevertheless that’s a good looking Land Cruiser you got.

Hay mate, cheers.
Yeah the valve body was swapped out for a recalibrate HD type, this makes the A750 much nicer, less sluggish and has a much more positive and crisper shifts in general. You also gain a noticeable bit of extra engine braking, this all done through the use of modified valves, separating plates and springs. Another big positives cooler trans temps due to less slipping in the torque converter.
There's a few companies here in Aus that do them, I got mine from MV automatics. Absolutely love it.

My problem with reading posts like yours is that I learn about mods I didnt know I needed!
This absolutely sums up my experience on MUD!

@srburnsy Well done with the build! It looks amazing!

Cheers mate, I love your chopped 100, would love to do that to mine one day, but the wife insists we still need seats for the kids. Haha.

Couple of hay bales and a rachet strap and they'll be right! Just remember to lie down if they see a cop.

This 100 series looks amazing! Nice work. Also, a nod to more mods I didn't know I needed as well. Anyone, else read the initial post in their Australian accent, or is it just me? Keep up the awesome work. And keep sending us more awesome builds!

Hay mate, yeah I have a bit of love hate relationship with them.
I love the light output and beam pattern, I prefer the warmer colour temperature far better when compared to that of LEDs or HIDs, the body of the light is much lighter in weight too.

The hate...
I did have a bad run with them in the early days of owning them, the plastic lenses kept cracking and letting dirt and water in. They then sent me the newer glass lenses free of charge but they were a fail due to them falling out of the frames and again destroying my inner reflectors, then one of my electrical plugs burnt out on me... I was nearly about to give up on them and throw em in the bin, but they assured me the lenses were now sorted, apparently the wrong adhesives were used on early batches.

The latest lenses have been fine so far, had them on for about 12months with no issues, touch wood! They did survive on recent trip to Cape York, they went completely under water on a few occasions and no water ingress or lens breakages. So far so good, and customer service from Fyrlyt is fantastic.

If I was to change them I'd probably go for the Bushranger night hawk vct LEDs (adjustable colour temp) and dimming functionality, but very pricey.

Another Ozzie, welcome.
Nice truck mate.

Thanks mate, interesting feedback and similar to my experience. I've just done the MOFO upgrade to mine and very happy with it.

As a dealer I can confirm they're very easy to deal with which is a lot more than we can say about lots of companies these days.

So true, mate.

Yeah I only have the 5000s and to be perfectly honest, I wouldn't want anything brighter, I think I must have good night vision eyes or something, I've been in some modern vehicles and I even find their factory light to be too bright. Haha

Hahaha I must be blind then 🤣

Definitely nice to find good service!
