I will be disassembling my parts rig Saturday morning until about 2pmish. I am borrowing a solvent washer tank from a guy at work and got some free sample solvent as well. This should lower the amount of brake cleaner necessay to clean all the parts as they come off the rig.

Anyone is welcome to come help. If you have something that you want to get clean, come take advantage of the aerospace quality cleaning solvent that is "green friendly" and biodegradable. (No Death Valley EPA situations will be happening this weekend.) :)

Let me know if interested. We can work on other things if anyone needs a hand. I have a welder available for use.

Dammit you picked a sucky day. Its my kid's bday and we are taking him and some friends to that crap-tastic Magic Mountain. Ugh.

I may be at it on Sunday as well. Do you still need the Al brackets you mentioned awhile back?

I'll update this thread as the weekend proceeds. I find it ironic that it will take me 6+ hours to do what you experienced guys can do a third of the time.

Lets just say that this is the beginning of the next stage of the cruiser.

I will call you Joey and confirm what time on Sunday. I have a guy at my job who is training to be a certified welder. he does good Al TIG welding. Give me what you need welded and I can get it done in two weeks.

I'll bring both pieces. Thanks!

I will be working on the parts truck at 12:00 on Sunday. Everyone is welcome to stop by. It's at 11635 Sheldon Street. (Sun Valley, near the intersection of Sheldon St and Glenoaks St.)

call me if you need help getting there or need directions. I will be in the back of the building. There's a big fence in the front, just come on back between the two buildings.

Oh no worries, we weren't there long enough to break a sweat. Mark got there in time to watch Randy call his dad and offer to rake the leaves if he would come pick up the axles.

Randy...duck is yours next month. There is going to be a thick layer of dust before you give it up!!

Fixed it for ya!;p

Randy, put together a list of knuckle overhaul parts you need and I'll round em up for ya. Got the Marlin seals in stock too.

Great. Thanks Mark.

Thanks for everyone who stopped by. Dave sat back and helped explain the disassembly. Joey helped unbolt everything. All in all it was a good day and things are slowly moving forward.

Right on. Does this mean you have already started rebuilding the axles? Its been a week now...

Just got back from my East Coast business trip last night. The axles will be cleaned and dismantled starting today after work. This will be done at my house, not at the address above.

I have not had time after work this week to properly tear down the axles. What if I was to have a barbecue? I’ll get some good marinated Tri-Tip and NY Strips and go from there. I live in Valencia and I could use some old cruisers on the street to mess with the neighbors. We have some pretty conservative people on my street and it would be fun to fill up the cul-de-sac with cruisers. Let me know if anyone is interested. I’m not asking for people to do any grunt work. I’m just asking for people to point me in the correct direction. Having people around when I disassembled the axles from the parts truck made it a lot faster (instead of me reading the FSM.) I can have air tools and a wash tank setup for this weekend. Ok, beer too.
