After Ed Voyles puts a set of Unlimited springs in my 2-door JK this Saturday, I'd like to take the beast for a spin. Not sure when I'll be done so I figure setting a meeting time after lunch is safe. I'd also like to be out after dark and check the aim of the lights after the work.

Anybody up for a run up Old Bucktown, a little exploring around in the woods, maybe dinner at Rib Country in Blairesville or over in Helen... ...no real plans. That sort of thing.

There's a Chevron station on the corner of Steve Tate Rd and GA-53. I'll shoot for 2:00 there to meet with any/all interested parties.
CB channel 7 for those equipped.

I've been wrench-festing too; the springs tomorrow morning are to level out and raise the beast after installing the bumpers and winch:

Looking better and better everytime I see it. I remember when you first got it...I frequent the Expo off and on.

Thanks.
I originally ordered an X and was going to build it with axles, lockers, bumpers, etc.
But the build date was originally May '08, then June... ...and kept getting pushed.
We had a trip coming up to the Rockies and I went to the dealer and got the Sahara.
In retrospect, I should've gone up to Jasper and gotten a Rubicon.

Well that turned into a very very nice afternoon of wheeling followed by a great evening on Main St in Dahlonega.
The Unlimited springs resulted in 1" of lift in front and 1/2" in back plus totally mitigated the vague handling JK's have at time ---- that had become more than vague with the new bumpers and winch. It feels so smooth on the road and comfy on the trail now; what a difference some proper rate springs make.

Thanks to Michael (The Swiss), Rosalinda (Mrs Swiss), Big Ben (doggie Swiss), and David (ShortBusGeek) for joining Mirtes and me today. The food and service at Piazza's was great as usual. And they remodeled; you no longer need to spray yourself with WD40 to squeeze into the restrooms...

I will be meeting with you sometime this fall to do some camping. I love NGA and I have looked through some of your posts on the EXPO and want to go do some camping with ya. Got some sweet spots up there.

Yeah my Uncle and aunt have a 4 door JK Rubicon. It was pretty sweet. They called me over the first day they had it. I immediately took it over to the school yard and showed them all the cool stuff. Flex it out in the ditches with swaybar disco, low range, lockers. Nice ride. Have you protected the underside yet? I noticed that the oil pan is just out there waiting for a rock. They wanted to go wheeling and that thing looked like it would need one good hit and be done. I let them know to get a good skid first. I cannot wait until it gets about 3 years old and then they will get a new car and build this one up a little.
