I was planning on doing the medanno pass and GSDNP but on the GSD Instagram page they stated a severe storm washed medanno pass road and it it closed until further notice:

Thats where we wanted to camp also, maybe they'll clear it ?

The Penitente canyon campground looks like a good option for us, first come first serve, 11$ a site and close to 285. Sand dune sites are all booked.
