I'd love to swing by there and pick it up. Sigh. $16,900.

Who knows what's under that pretty new paint?

Ya its been avalable a couple times in the last few years. I beleave it was origionaly from the same seller that had the late model white 45 rhd flatbed (also verry sweet)

The owner of the vehicle also posted it over on the Classifieds. I think he restores them as I get an email from him about every 6 months of a troopy that he has restored and has for sale.

Troopy For Sale

That was my Troopy that was posted for sale. It sold right away for 16K. Most guys are asking for 20K PLUS for nice looking ones and considering the amount of $ involved with shipping, trucking, taxes, port fees, DMV fees, Federal import fees, painting, and repairing all the little things that add up $ quick 16K is a great deal. I drive my own 1981 HJ47 Turbo Diesel Troopcarrier but I do import a couple a year. If you are interested in buying one or just want to see what I have for sale send me your email richardshep@hotmail.com and I will send you pics and info when I have one for sale. Thanks Rich oh yeah if youre worried about what is under the shiny paint I can send you "before" pictures of any part of the vehicle as well as the "after" pictures.

Hi Richard,

I agree. Having imported a number of troopies myself, I can back you up. Add to that the strong Aussie dollar (worth as much as 1.1 US$ recently), the high cost of cars (and everything) in Australia and the diminishing number of rust-free troopies in Australia and i'd say us$16,000 for a clean troopy is a very good price.

Sadly, I'm now finding that I can sometimes sell troopies for more in Australia than in the US.

Pop on to the troopy registry and stick their VIN number on - you can keep it anonymous. I'd love to have some idea of how many troopies are in the US now. The link is in my signature.

Josh
