Been on the hunt and this one comes up with what looks like a clean truck with crappy photos. Did a vin search and came up with this website that had a photo of the thing at 307k: JT3FJ60G0E1119504 1984 TOYOTA LANDCRUISE - View history and price at AutoAuctionHistory

Looks a lot different than the craigslist ad!

I don't want to waste the $35 to pull a carfax but from what I can piece together from various free reports it was a colorado cruiser and was bought at auction with pos. a salvage title? I don't know? Too far for me to call the seller and drive down there just to be disappointed, but maybe a fellow mudder in san diego might want to check this thing out.

Well certainly looks like a quick respray. And it looks like it was originally white, or tan based on the photo attached. I would stay away based on what you've found out.

Black is the best color to paint something that you want to hide things on I'd save my money, stop at the mall, buy some new running shoes, put them on, and run away from this one as fast as you can.
