Not mine but this was just listed in Salt Lake. I went to drive it today but the battery was dead. Body was in decent shape but there was a pretty good amount of rust on the underbody. Could be an interesting low mile find for someone.

2006 LX with 119k miles for $19k.

Did you happen to take any pictures of this one? Link to website doesn't show any pictures, this one is in my range of mileage and price. Rusty undercarriage might be a concern, especially bringing it to MI where we salt the roads.

I looked at this when they had it the first time. Lots of rust for sure (per Carfax most of it's life in IL)...I would ask why they got it back after selling it a few months earlier.

Looks like they just put up some pictures. When I asked why they got it back, they said the buyer had some unfortunate circumstances so they took it back. Sounds like there’s more to that story.

They added pictures and a $3K price increase...dealers.

They sent me this and I passed.

There are at least three or four 06-07s 100s on KSL right now. All rust buckets that are circulating around. Several of them with history in the Northeast. It's shameful for these dealers to try and pawn these off on people. I hope they get burned on trying to flip these and it's good to see them sit in inventory for at least several months.

I purchased the LX 470 back in July and returned it a couple of weeks ago. I will go into more detail once they refund me. At the time I bought 3 of them , 2006 and 2007 LX 470 's. One from Manheim Chicago , one from Florida and the other from TIM Dahle Utah. I was going to keep just one and give it to my son. After I got them I realized they were not for me and ended up buying a new Lunar rock TRD pro Tacoma. They were to minivan like for me plus, they were all pretty average , I did not see the big deal in them. My good friend has had a LC 2002 since new and his partner has had a 2008 LC since new and they love them. I just thought to buy a car for low $20k range with 115kmi to 14kmi on it I would rather have a brand new car with a warranty and no issues. All 3 LX had problems. One broke down on a hot day in Santa Ynez in August granted it was 110 degrees out but still it was just serviced at Lexus. 2 had rust that you can never fix.
The silver car was nice looking, but I found out later it had some serious issues. The black one with 141km had had terrible wind noise from the drivers side mirror and had rust all in the rear deck lid and it need to be replaced, but underneath it had very little rust, the guy at the body shop said even under the door sills there was rust from the inside. I ended up reselling that at Manheim AA. I will continue to buy more of them, cause I will tell you I have never had so much interest in a car I have bought and sold. Maybe I will find the right one.
As to the Silver car PM and I will let you know my thoughts.

So you are a dealer?

Yes, I have a dealers license, but I bought the 3 cars planning on keeping the best one for my son, but all turned out to be piles of junk. (literally).
I love older cars and have many older cars several 1980's ,1990's MBs older Rovers and I will tell you that these 2006-2007 Lexus might be reliable , but I have never seen cars rust so much. I have been trading cars since the early 1990's and never seen cars rust like this. I am in negotiations to buy a 06 LC right now and I'am waiting for the inspection report. Let see.

You've never seen rust like this because all the ones that don't have it are in owners hands now, and will be kept for a while. LCs don't really trade hands unless they're rusty

They aren't rusted in these parts, just saying. By the way, buying 3 vehicles with the intention to pick one to keep seems kind of, well, I don't know. Never mind.

So did you purchase the vehicles with rust issues sight unseen? It's very easy to detect this problem with a physical inspection or even appropriate photos. It seems like you could avoid rust problems by buying vehicles that have not lived in rust prone states.

This must be the one that you described as in excellent condition in another thread.

It is a very nice car and in excellent condition that I expect to bring top dollar to the right buyer. Not looking to sell to bottom feeders.

It was a beautiful 1 owner car with new tires water pump service, great interior, 3 keys and books, clean car fax, just underneath there was a lot of rust that you would never know looking at it.

In my years of buying cars I have missed some by being on the fence. If you have the luxury of waiting and doing a ppi and so forth you are probably paying to much for the car or full retail. If it is priced well it will sell immediately. I used to be a buyer for a number of dealerships here in SOCAL, Texas, and AZ in the 1990's and would have to buy 100 to 150 cars a month for them through Manheim and Adessa and local trade ins. Normally it never seems to be an issue but on these LX and LC they seem to be prone to rust more than other cars. What to know about rust and corrosion recalls on Toyota trucks and SUVs ,
