Pffft - is that supposed to impress us? The White Trash done got 7 of them RV spots reserved! Howdy neighbor![]()
OK guys - a 'lil update for ya. We are up to 60 trucks registered now and I know of several more that are planning to attend. I'm thinkin 80+ at this point. The park is fully booked as far as camping goes but we will squeeze more in wherever we can. The nearby KOA is getting some action as well. The Arkansas Crawlers have voluntered to take over any trail guide needs that we may have so that's off our shoulders. I've been getting some help lately from Bomar (thanks John) on contacting vendors for the "non-raffle" and we are making some headway. For those who have already stepped up I want to pass on a heartfelt THANK YOU!
Now - I need some suggestions or maybe a volunteer... Those of us who were fortunate enough to be in Gilmer in January or Katemcy in March know how well the childrens raffle went over. For me - one of the very best parts of both events! With this many rigs showing up and the time of year we are bound to have quite a few kids at our little gathering. Hindsight is always 20/20 and I see now that I should have bumped the registration fees by $5 or so to cover something like this - but it's too late to do that now. How can we raise a few hundred dollars to hold our own Rug Rat Raffle?
Cookie jar donations?
Corporate sponsor?
Rob a liquor store -hhmm:you'll be there anyway)
Other ideas????
Need some help here guys. Anybody want to step up and take this one on?
I can help.
I've got tickets for the kids. LSLC spent about $300 and provided 50 toys to 25 kids.
I'll volunteer to bring toys and tickets. I just need five more people to pony up $50 (payable at the event) so I can buy toys. I would budget $25 per kid if you only expect a few. Do we have a count?
Sign me up and let me know your kid count.
Happy Trails! N
That's what I'm talkin' about! Thank you Nick! You can put Sherry and I down for the next $50. Getting a count on this thing has been really hard due to no real advance registration. I just took a WAG and said 20-30 kids under 12 or so. Sherry also volunteered to go shopping Saturday morning like the girls did at Katemcy. By then we should have a fairly good idea of how many Rug Ratz we need to make happy. I do think it would be great if we had one "nice" item as LSLC did for a grand prize. I know my little girl was fired up about it for hours!
Side note - I have been corrected. There are still three tent sites available for the event. Sorry for the error.
