Hey guys–

In the process of buying my first cruiser!

Clearly, and for good reason, it makes sense to buy a rust free rig – my question is though, living in New England like I do, how can I keep it that way for the long run?

Is there a product I can apply when I purchase the vehicle that can help preserve the truck?

Fluid Film is the answer that you seek.

I'd do Amsoil MPHD since dust doesn't stick to it b/c It dries to a candle like finish.

I have never heard of that stuff. Looks decent, does it chip off then when road debris impacts it? I have used fluid film for the last 3 years on my Super Duty that sees MN winters and tons of salt. No rust and the fluid film lasts for a whole year. One gallon will do my long box crew cab truck twice. So I buy a new can every other year. Should be able to get 3 or more seasons on the land cruiser. Even with liberal application.

I've used fluid film with mediocre results. I'm going to try Amsoil HDMP. More of a wax like finish.

It doesn't chip. We have no rust problems here, but I used it on my old Tacoma because I make frequent visits to the beach. Plan on doing my LC soon. This isn't my picture, but it's just to give you an idea of what it looks like when applied. Results vary depending on how well you prep. This is from a newer Tacoma.
