running without doors

You're FAR from a wuss... If it helps at all... The first and last time I removed and replaced the right rear door on my cruiser, was after a tree umm... modded it for me. Since then, the door hasn't ever closed correctly. Go figure. I've removed and replaced the front doors twice, but that wasn't for wheeling purposes.

IMHO it's a bad idea as others stated, but TJK, the XJ's with no doors do flex and there's genereally no problems...the rear hatch on the other hand....

Lighten up, Frances.... What I meant was they don't go offroad, and therefore don't really flex. It was a joke. Badda bing badda boom....

Actually, I'll all but guarantee you that running a vehicle originally equipped without "easily" removable doors will be illegal, and the local cops will be stopping you quick.

CJ's, FJ's, and other "ragtop" trucks have a significant lip at the door sill....like 3-4" in height. This "encourages" you to keep your appendages in the vehicle, and to keep things on the floor of your rig from rolling out. Almost all newer rigs run the doorsill effectively flush with the floorpan...

This is also why Scouts and early Broncos have those fiberglass door inserts available...they didn't come with the lip, and those cover them for street legality.

You are required one rear facing mirror, and the center mirror should suffice for that.

Every XJ I've been on the trail has had problems. The last one blew a headgasket, broke a tie rod end, snapped a front axle, and the tranny locked up. I haven't had any problems with XJs on the trail since that time because I've managed to avoid them.

may depend on your state....in WI you can get away with just the centerview....

either way, I'll bet having the doors off will be illegal due to the "no sill" issue...
