I have a Chevy 350 with TPI (Tuned Port Injection) What temperature should the engine run at? I have a 185 degree thermostat, however my temp guage shows me running betwwen 190 and 210 most of the time. In the desert in the summer its been as high as 230. I have never had it boil over.

Cooloing system = stock fj60 radiator stock shrowd modified to fit and an eight blade cadilac fan on a chevy fan clutch.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

P.S. Low speed cooling is never a problem most heat build up seems to occur at crusing speed on highway 65-75 MPH

Power will be up if you bring it down to around 160-170, but 190-210 is perfectly reasonable for operating temperature. I see that you are in Cali so i would leave it as it is, ive always heard that emissions are lower with the temp in the range youre talking about.

Im glad to hear that a stock radiator will hold up to V8 heat, ive pondered a swap in the future and thats one less thing to replace.
