(The rear lower link looks so skinny .... lol)

Now she just needs some sliders!

Yes, this is the wifes ride. So... . . slowly but surely.

What would you say are the lowest profile sliders out there? Slee vs WK vs ?

I guess they took a hint from offroad users all taking their running boards off the 80s and 100s... My roommate just traded his tahoe in for a 200 (he was going to get another tahoe then I took him wheeling in my 100)
I took his running boards off bc he liked my 100 sans running boards which were the lowest body part on my model by like 3-4 inches. On your 200s though seems tthe bottom is flush with the frame beams and dont make much of a difference. I actually suggested he put them back on til he got sliders since it seems there are no negatives and they offer at least some degree of protection...just my $.02

Negatives:

- They do not extend far enough to actually be a safe step

- Therefore, they make you step out further away from the vehicle (bad ergonomics for my fat a$$)

- People will make fun of you here on Mud

Wish I could do the same but Middle East spec Cruisers have a different type of running board that is integrated with part of the lower sill body molding. Also replacing them with something more sturdy is not possible because of this. Pic shows the rear left hand side.

fvunen, see if you can order these from your dealer. They come painted so you would want to make sure your color code is the same.

www.Toyotapartscheap.com

Select 2008 Land Cruiser and search "rocker molding"

Hoser, or anybody else who commented on this topic,
Do you happen to know the Toyota numbers for these part, both the plastic molding as well as the running board itself? The toyota parts website doesn't give you any parts numbers, just the picture?
Thanks,
Nan

Nan,

what part of the middle east are you in? If you are looking for the G9 spec (non-running board parts) im sure you can trade what you have for them. If I can remember this week if I have to upgrade of our G9 spec TLC to GXR trim i'll try and save those parts for you.

Hi Kenny,
I'm in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. All LCs driving around here have the "integrated" plastic moulding running boards as I pictured a few posts ago but I have seen a few that appear to be aftermarket modified to the "separate" look. Thanks for the offer of a swap but mine are not exactly in swap condition any longer :-)
The Toyota dealer here is not much help when it comes to anything non-standard so if you happen to have part numbers of the various parts involved that would be a great help.
Regards,
Nan

Hoser,
Thanks for that, this site assumes that you know what you're looking for... just getting the description makes it a bit of a gamble! I've been able to find the codes on what I have allright, finding the other model is a bit more of a challenge.
Any idea of a model code that has these separate running boards for sure?

The USA market URJ200L has the non-running board "rocker moulding" for sure. But you have to know your paint code as well and hopefully it is the same paint code to the models we have here. These are the two main parts. Not sure what else might be needed.

When you say "non running board" I assume you mean a separate moulding and running board as in the pics from Woodycreature at the start of this thread?
When I look up the parts on my UZJ200L-GNAEKV on this website it comes back with exactly the same part numbers than those for a US model however, something is amiss!
Interestingly here in the GCC we appear to have a different type of white than in the rest of the world (Pearly White vs Super White). Bugger!

Yes, I guess I should say "non-integrated running board."

Same part number? That's good. The last two of the PN is the color code. On that website, it has a spot to enter your vehicle's color code. I think "A1" is the suffix for Pearl White. Also double check the part number because when I looked your GCC 200 up, one digit was different.

When I first looked at it I also thought the numbers where different, until I realized I had left and right mixed up. The only difference I can find is the color code, for the rest ALL models seem to have the same code for the plastic molding. I'll just take these numbers to Toyota here and see what they tell me....
