Hi all,

I just bought a '96. I need winter floor mats to help keep the interior looking/smelling good. Toyota used to have some good ones, but when I asked today all I got was a laugh. " Yeah, we can't sell any floor mats right now."

"Oh, right. Recall."

What works good?

What about a dog/cargo barrier? Who sells the one to get? Toyota has one that pressure fits between the floor and roof, is that ok?

Thanks, I am looking forward to my new rig!

Husky liners. Period.

Don't know about the other deal.

D

I would say the cheepest rubber ones with deep groves you can find. All they do is get stepped on, and dirt and snow falls in them.

've been in this same dillema...haven't decided and trust I've been all over the place trying to make a decision. I just bought the custom Weather Tech's for a 2009 BMW 650i convertible...they didn't fit well at all, wishing now I bought factory mats, but trusted the Weather Techs to be "better"....wrong.

Everyone I talk to say to get Husky's...looking also at Extreme...but Husky will more than likely end up with my business for the Land Cruiser. I don't really like the "liners" because of the big lip around the edge, it's a catch point for my feet when getting in and out in my opinion. I just want really nice mats, deep grooves to hold water, snow, mud, whatever that give maximum coverage. Second row, same thing, go all the way across and cover as much carpet as possible. Rear cargo/third row, I think Husky will get that business also, I like there cutouts for the third row seats being scored so I know where to cut. Decisions, decisions, decisions...something this simple shouldn't be this hard. I am more of a see it touch it feel guy, ordering online is convenient, but I would like to see them!!

Bruddah,

My pair of $35 cheap Michelin mats from Sears works. Tough, gray with raised edges keep the elements from getting into the floorboards.

Buy the Husky Liners :hillbilly:

x2 Husky Liners.
I have them front, mid, rear.

I 2nd the husky liners, front-mid-and rear. All together mine cost about $250 from auto anything husky liners - Auto Parts & Auto Accessories - Over 6 Million Auto Parts, Aftermarket Parts, Truck Accessories & Car Accessories, money well spent. No the lip does not get in the way and get the black ones:hillbilly:

Per that link, and everywhere else I've looked, they don't have the first and second row Husky liner in black, only gray and tan which would look silly in my brown interior. Otherwise I would have bought them already.

I've had Husky Liners in other vehicles and always been happy. I've also had several varieties of WeatherTech and been disappointed. Their "custom fit" mats require trimming and the floor liners slide and mark up easily from your feet, at least in gray.

HEXOMATS classy and tuff

If your loking for a better fit and finish than the other super duty mats the Hexomats have a really nice low profile that is flexable and stays put! It also holds lots of debris. The Huskey might hold more but the profile is too high for me taste, Color matched to your interrior and custom laser cut for super nice coverage on your floors!
I got a killer deal on a set and can give you that info if you like.

I have pics of them in my 60 just can't seem to figure out how to attach, can e-mail if you like.

If your loking to feed livestock out of your all weather mats the Huskey matts are your TROFT of choice, but the lip on em is a trip hazard for the ladies wearing heels. I always think of this when picking up gals at the truck stop!

So my vote goes to the Hexomat.

I find it strange that the Husky liners don't dump out the door like this:

If they did I'd buy them. I don't want to stumble/trip over the mat getting in and out either.

I've never had any problems whatsoever with the lip on my Husky mats. It's really a non-issue IMO :meh:

Guess I could also trim them down if it became a problem. I do agree though that the Husky liners are probably the best option out there. I like that I could line my whole truck. I'll probably bite the bullet and get these myself.

Are the Hexomats really custom fit? I did some research and they seem not to be custom fit. I found this review for a 2008 LC. Anyone have pics of The Hexomat in a 80 series LC?

I got husky Liners and love them. Before them I had cheap walmart rubber slush mats. They were fine but didnt provide the coverage the Huskies did.

I don't have them yet, but these look interesting to me. Lloyd RubberTite Rubber Floor Mats, Lloyd Rubber Floor Liner They don't have the lip like the Husky Liners (which, in my opinion, makes the HL look like they don't fit), and they lie flat. Also, the "tan" they have looks to be pretty close to the factory color of the brown carpet in my 80's........Anyone have these / know anything about them?

This might be what I am looking for for my front and second row mats...possibly even the cargo area. I don't like the Husky Liners...I just don't think they look good....to me they're a bit too stiff, and simply look poorly fitted. I realize they hold a lot of water, ice, etc, but you know, I'm 45 and even my three kids know how to shake their boots off before getting into the truck...and we haven't really spilled anything that can't be cleaned up quickly...not enough certainly to fill any mat for that matter...they don't usually have a 7/11 Big Gulp!! Thanks for sharing this, it might be exactly what I need...not real fond of the design of the surface, but I might be able to get past that...and if I go with beige over black the color does look like a dead on match!! Thanks again.

Whatever you buy, be sure they are trimmed properly and held in place so they don't end up jamming your accelerator pedal. You are driving a Toyota after all. :flipoff2:

I ordered these for my 94 LC (row1, row2 & cargo in tan). When they arrive, I will install and take some photos and post them.
