04 100 series. Middle of nowhere
Gotta go obvious here... Did you drive slowly while trying to shift? Did you try shifting the tranny into Neutral?

Tried that also.
You could try to get two of the same front or rear tires off the ground to make sure it's not a driveline load issue.

Finally got it out. Tried all of the above. It hadnt been used in years so I think it was just stuck. It was grinding and I believe it was a driveline load issue. Drove it down the road for about 5 miles trying intermittently and it finally gave way. Worked smoothly on the trails after that.
