Hi folks,

I was driving home yesterday from out of town and had been in the car for maybe 100 miles when I noticed that the RSCA light started to come on. It started out somewhat dimly, but got a bit brighter. I noticed no changes the performance of the vehicle. At one point, I pressed and held the RSCA Off button, which caused the indicator to light up more brightly. When I held it again and turned it "off", the indicator was still on, but in its more dim setting. I did a search on this forum (by title) for RSCA and only got four hits, none of which seem to be related to my problem. Anyone have any idea?

Thanks.

Recall Affects 2003-2006 100 Series
That's about a recall for the ECU controlling the RSCA (Roll Sensing Curtain Airbags). Maybe a connection?
In any case, you do not want those curtains blowing up while cruising down the Autostrada.

I wondered if that might be the case. I've had the recall letter sitting out for months now. I went ahead and made an appointment for Wednesday. Thanks for your thoughts.

Water intrusion down one of the A-pillars from a poor replacement windshield. Check both lower fuse blocks carefully for any signs of water. This same thing (warning lights coming on dimly) happened on my first Hundy.

Yep, this is my vote, too. Were you driving in severe rain? I've had this happen, but with other lights on my 2000. Dash lights that came on made no sense at all. When dry, problem gone...

Wow, actually, that could be it. It was raining very hard this weekend, and was raining while I was driving. I'll check the fuse boxes.

When my First hundy did it, it was the passenger side that was leaking. I ended up having the windshield replaced by Safelite and once done correctly, the leak and associated problems were gone. :)

OK, I'll check that out. You think I could just hit the fuse box with some canned air and that should take care of it?

I dunno, maybe dry it with a hair drier or something to get it dried out, and then replace or re-seal the windshield ASAP:)

Thread dig to save making a new thread for same issue...

Intermittent dull RSCA OFF light, can hold down and it brightens to suggest “off” works, but cannot get light to fully extinguish.
I know have the SRS FAULT light join the party fully lit, and the RSCA OFF is full bright and cannot be reactivated.

will be off to Toyota tomorrow, but in the interim I just want to say, there are a bajillion god damned posts asking “what is RSCA” and similar over the web, making it extremely difficult to find any fault finding for wiring or sensor location. End rant

if anyone else has had similar and got a result, some info would be helpful as I know Toyota will say “you have an aftermarket phone cable, so we don’t know. That will be $2500 thanks”
