I have used it in my jeep grand cherokee with great results but just did not know if it was taboo for the LC/LX:)

No. I went with Mobil 1.

I'm on the purple. Never used it before the LC. Never used anything but purple in the LC, so I have nothing to compare it to. I was just excited to put expensive oil in my expensive truck. Seems to lube things just fine. Engine still runs. Change every 5k, which I hear is conservative, but I don't drive much anyway...

Due for a change after this tank of gas. I can finally install my fumoto =)

I have used it for years in my jeep. My mechanic fills it and then just changes the filter every 5k miles and does a complete oil change every 20K. My mechanic is a bit of a oil nerd:) and send them all off to be tested(for what I have no clue) and he loves royal purple and wix filters.

I just started using it I the engine but I don't see myself changing to anything else in the future. I ran it to 7272 last oil change and the oil analysis came back with the comment- try 9,000 miles.

I run Amsoil in the diffs and transfer case.

Just changed out my oil. Royal purple 5w-30 out after 5,400 miles. Royal purple 5w-30 in. When pouring the 5 quart jug in, it kinda sounded watery. I chalked it up to being my makeshift funnel (a cut off single quart oil container). Checking oil level after the change, I had streaky oil. Panicked about a possible blown head gasket, I did some detective work and cut open the 5 quart container that sounded strange going in.

Guess I'm switching to Mobil 1 like the rest of you. Glad I didn't drive anywhere with s*** oil in my truck.

I've never had a problem with any engine changing oil with conventional at the recommended interval. In my 100, I use synthetic 5-20 and it looks pretty good coming out when regularly going over 5k miles. I only use synthetic because that's what is in the barrel at the shop I take my vehicles to. My honest opinion, royal purple is a brand just like Lucas and if I were to use those brands, I truly believe my engine or other components won't last longer using those products over quality "regular" lubricants (Mobil, Castrol).
