I've got a small group of guys from Chattanooga going on a weekend trip to Royal Blue just north of Knoxville. So far we have 3 trucks going up Friday afternoon to wheel over the weekend. Let me know if anybody is interested in meeting up.

Caryville is abt 10 miles from RB and has much better truck trails.RB is more for 4wheelers and motorcycles. The trails are really narrow at RB. Check out YouTube agoode79 he has caryville videos. I've met you through Andy Goode at the new years run in 08 and a few times in chatt at the STLCA meetings. I can probably get 2 or 3 trucks to come too if you decide to go to Caryville. That's just my .02 though. It's probably 25 minutes from us in Knoxville.

thanks rance. last year we did the sand mine trails and some other areas also in Royal blue just off Stinkin Creek Road which were pretty easy. We are staying at blackpinecabins off the same road as well but we would love to meet up with you guys and see some new trails.

I remember you and Andy, haven't heard from you guys in a while. Last time I talked to Andy we had son's about 1 week apart.

Well I just found out that we were going to Charleston SC to see my brother that weekend. They should be expecting their second child around that time. Total brain fart . That's why we get married so our wives can remind us of things we have going on.

Count me in. Last years ride was an epic 15 hour adventure full of fireworks, lots and lots of beer and snow. While Sandmines can be fun, a good Royal Blue ride can cover some ground, see a lot, and trucks dont get needlessly abused. Im all over it. I can also suggest a real nice route out of Briceville, over the Flats and into Royal Blue.

last year my dad went with us, he had never been wheeling before. the 1st night we were all sitting around in the cabin drinking, then we said "time to go wheeling". my dad was like "right now? it's dark outside:confused:". by the 2nd night my dad was telling us "load up the trucks, let's go". he had so much fun. he is excited to go again this year:clap::steer::clap::beer: my other buddy Matt is turning 40 that weekend so we might have to check out the "Adult World" lol :bounce::bounce2::banana:

for anybody still interested, most of us are leaving Chatt Friday afternoon. plan is to wheel all saturday and possibly some sunday morning. drop me a pm if you want to meet up for saturday ride. profro is hopefully leading us to some newer trails. we have 4 trucks so far.

Change of plans!!!! Not going to Charleston til mid March. So I might be free. I'll have to talk to the wifeeee and see what the plans are now. I'll keep in touch this week and let you guys know.

What time do you want to meet? I am thinking of a route out of Lake City that goes over the Flats and into Royal Blue for the first half of the day then we can find out way down to the eternal flame and then to where ever. All of that is west of I75. We can circle back around and head east of I75 later in the evening if you want.

is there any way we can meet north of that, say caryville or something, make a loop south west, then back? problem is we are staying in a cabin off stinking creek exit (144 i think). driving 3 trucks to Lake City (30+ miles) aired down could take 45 minutes but in the end, we will be out all day anyways so let me know if any other options.

also, we had two guys back out last minute (of course) so we have those spots available in our cabin if anybody is interested in a place to stay, let me know. even other guys from Chatt or elsewhere are welcome.

How many trucks are going? I'm about 75% in . Still waiting on my wife

Did you say you guys were going in at the caryville exit??? You go past the shoneys and the fire department on the left and in abt 1/2 mile you take a hard right and cut down to the river( creek) and go up that way to the sand mines?

that sounds like the trail we took last year but i'm up for whatever. i'm ok with driving to the lake city exit too as long as we work back north somehow.

Royal blue road/Tennessee 63 exit 134. That's how we always go in to the sand mines . But going out the other side of the sand mines is a little tricky. We always air up at a gas station at exit 134.

make your own fudge!

The big rocky hill to get to the mines is pretty good, then past the pond their is a pretty awesome trail to the right then past it is a pretty gnarly V notch.
