i need a bit of input from most of you,i'm replacing both of my headlamps and can't decide which one to get.is there any big issues between the round eyes and ipf?and why does ipf needs a harness?is it really necessary?thanks in advance to all.i think my lamps are still original (koito).:o john

I have the 'Round Eyes' and I love them; they are 100x brighter (well, maybe not but you get the point.) than the stock; plus they just plug right in. I also compared these to the stock ones on the new Jeep Wranglers and they look the same, but who knows. Anyway, fast shipping and super easy to install. I tried to take a photo but my digital camera doesn't like the super bright light in the lens so it didn't come out right.

I run the IPF's with hella 55w/100wt bulbs cause a I saw a buddies setup and loved it!!!! I just got a harness from summit, cause if you don't you will keep blowing your fuses when you hit your high beams!!!

If you want pm me and I will take pics of them.

You need the harness to handle higher current draw with higher output bulbs, and to cut down on the voltage drop between the battery and headlights. Even with stock headlights, the harness helps. If you don't do the harness, you should stay with lower wattage bulbs.

There's a fair bit of info and photos in the thread linked in my sig line, although it is for a 62 set-up.

thanks

for all the suggestion.i have decided to get a set of ipf and harness just to make sure.now my next follow up question is where is the best place and price to get it?c-dan?coolcruisers?let me know,i won't have the money till next month anyways.:Djohn

I think I got mine from kurt at cruiseroutfitters - but i just got the IPF lenses there - I believe ARB/IPF has a harness. Daniel Stern has them also.

ipf are great you will definately notice the difference over stock. i purchased from manafre. Install of lights and harness is a piece of cake.

I got my harness and light from kurt at cruiser outfitters. It was a moo2 and IPF lenses. The bulb i got from Costco on line. They were like 35 bucks for the pair. Hella blues 80/110 I think. You can see the harness on Kurt's website. Peace

X - whatever it is on the IPFs. ran them for a while with 55w Hella bulbs and then got the harness (which is ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT!!!!!) I can't believe I went with stock for so long....

I have the best of both worlds. Round eyes in the grill and IPFs on the bumper for 'that little extra'. Both are great.
